This is a unique copy of "In the Footsteps of William and Dorothy: An Illustrated Anthology" compiled by Hugh R. Hulbert, published as a second edition in December 1957. This booklet features the romantic poetry of William and Dorothy Wordsworth.What makes this copy incredible is its rich provenance and extensive handwriting in margins:Gift Inscription: Inscribed on Christmas 1967 from "Margaret" to her mother, wishing her a future trip to visit the English Lake District.Historical Marginalia: Detailed notes detailing exactly where and when parts of the poems were memorized. Mentions include a sophomore English class at S.U.S., a 1924 memory at a Y.M.C.A. Camp at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and a June 1967 trip to Oberlin College on the way to the famous Expo '67 in Montreal, Canada after hearing politician Adlai Stevenson quote the lines.Condition: Good vintage condition. Light shelf wear to the softcover edges and minor aging to paper. String binding is intact.
