"Dear Helen: We arrived in deer lick springs wenesday morning and the next day it started in raining so we are having a good time, its fine here now. We went to clamath Falls alterans and Reno and back to the spring so we had a good trip. We will be home satuardy Olive"Scene: A stunning wildlife scene featuring a large black-tailed buck with a velvet-textured rack of antlers standing in deep winter snow. A small metal feeding pan shows that this animal was a well-known local fixture at the resort.The bottom center of the camera negative features a delicate, faint white hand-etched caption naming the specific animal: "Tommy" Deer lick springs, Calif.Postal: A rare, crisp hand-struck cancellation mark from Platina, California, dated June 13, 1950.
