This is a magnificent, highly authentic piece of 19th-century American foundry history: a Cast Iron Salesman’s Sample Pot-Belly Stove, dating to the late 1880s–1890s.This is a genuine, heavy-duty scale model used by traveling foundry salesmen to demonstrate craftsmanship to hardware stores—not a cheap 1970s toy reproduction. It features a beautifully molded, prominent capital letter "B" directly on the front hearth door, representing one of the flagship lines of the era.Condition Report:This piece is being offered in highly desirable, "as-found" unrestored condition with a stunning, genuine dark antique patina [1.1, 1.2]. The cast iron is remarkably smooth with crisp, perfectly legible molding lines. To remain entirely honest and accurate: the removable top lid/grate is missing, leaving the top rim open as pictured. There are no structural cracks or welds to the main body. A phenomenal, character-rich display piece for any serious collector of early Americana or antique cast iron!
