This antique Limoges handpainted pheasant plate was given to my mother by her mother-in-law (my grandmother) back in the 1950's. It is a stunning piece of French porcelain art from the late 19th century. Featuring intricate multi-color designs, this original creation by Limoges is a unique and beautiful addition to any antique collection. With its antique style and historical significance, this plate showcases the craftsmanship and elegance of French artistry from the Victorian era.The French Limoges game bird plates signed by L. Coudert are notable for their intricate hand-painted designs and historical significance. These plates are part of the Coronet Limoges series, which was produced by George Borgfeldt, a prominent New York importer of porcelains with decorating studios in Germany and Paris.2 L. Coudert, one of the most revered Limoges artists of the late 19th and early 20th century, is known for his work on these plates, and his signature is considered one of the most valuable in the Limoges market.Antique Limoges Coronet China pheasant plate has a colorful yellow, purple and green background with raised scalloped edge with gold accents. There is a small hole on the back for hanging and plate is signed L. Coudert.Measures 10" in diameter at the widest part and just under 1 1/2" high to the top of the rim. The plain white back has a 6 1/4" diameter base with the green crown marking Coronet Limoges France.This is in very good condition with no chips or crazing, some light wear on the gold outer rim.
