Vintage "Golden Spike Pen" novelty pen in its original brown plastic case with gold lettering and "PAT. PENDING" marking on the lid. Gold-tone pen has a distinctive spike/railroad-spike shaped design with a textured grip section. Case measures approximately 6" long.<br>A unique souvenir-style pen, likely tied to railroad or "Golden Spike" commemorative themes (the historic Golden Spike marks the completion of the U.S. transcontinental railroad).<br>Condition: case shows surface scratches and light wear on the lettering and lid; gold-tone finish on the pen shows light wear/tarnish in spots, with brassing visible at the tip and grip area.
