Beautiful and rare specimen of a teaching botanical model in the manner of the famous German scientist Robert Brendel."At the end of the nineteenth century Robert Brendel and his son Reinhold made beautiful and accurate models of scale flowers in Breslau and Berlin".(Museum of Zoology of the University of Aberdeen)This fascinating botanical model depicts a banano tree, yellow and green in color, made of hand -painted wood.Base in ebanized wood.These models were highly appreciated in universities for their detail and accuracy in showing students the characteristics of various flowers, pistils, petals, corollas, scientific names and species.Now they are collected for Wunderkammer, the Curiosity cabinet, but also for a nice and original decoration of our environment.This article comes from a private collection and is therefore unpublished on the market.This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/ maker.It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity,however it is well documented in design history.Needs Restoration, Heavy Signs of Use, Patina Consistent with Age and Use
