Vintage American Optical (AO) aviator / navigator style eyeglass frames made in the USA. These feature a classic oversized 1970s design with a translucent amber acetate front and darker brown tortoise-style temples. The frames have a distinctive double bridge look and large lens openings typical of vintage optical frames from this era. The lenses currently installed appear to be prescription and will likely need to be replaced for the buyer’s needs. Frames are being sold as frames only. Condition shows normal vintage wear from age and use. There is a small stress crack visible along the frame near the lens channel as well as evidence of a prior hinge repair. Both areas are shown clearly in the photos. The frames remain intact but lenses should be installed carefully due to the age of the acetate. Great candidate for someone looking to reglaze with their own prescription lenses or convert into vintage-style sunglasses.
