The item we have is the Matriarch Back Brace (also referred to as a Lumbar-Sacral Orthosis or LSO). This is a medical-grade support device typically to help with pregnancy-related back pain or postpartum recovery.How to Wear the BraceThe brace is designed to stabilize your lower spine (lumbar region) and pelvis. Here is how to put it on correctly:1. Positioning: Place the large padded panel (the one in your photo) against your lower back. The notched "u-shaped" cutout at the bottom should sit right above your tailbone, following the curve of your hips.2. Initial Wrap: Wrap the wide side-wings around your waist. Secure the main Velcro closure snugly over your abdomen (or under your baby bump if currently pregnant).3. The "Compression" Pull: You will notice secondary "pull tabs" or smaller elastic straps on the sides. Once the main brace is closed, grab these tabs and pull them forward simultaneously. This provides the "compression" that actually stabilizes the spine.4. The "Hand Test": The brace should be tight enough to feel supportive but not so tight that it restricts breathing. You should be able to slide a hand between the top of the brace and your skin with a little effort.
