A handsome Queen Anne style highboy chest crafted from solid walnut, featuring beautifully figured grain, traditional brass hardware, and elegant cabriole legs.One of the most notable features of this chest is the unusually wide solid side boards and drawer sections. Early furniture was often constructed from broad, hand-cut boards rather than narrower machine-produced lumber. In this piece, several sections appear to be made from single wide boards of solid walnut, reflecting older cabinetmaking methods and substantial material use.The generous width of the lumber, solid walnut construction, and traditional joinery all contribute to the chest’s strong early appearance and sense of age.
