Vintage 1950s–60s Huntingdon Ambulance Volunteer Jacket – The Standard Pennant Co. A rare piece of Pennsylvania history, this authentic mid-century service jacket was produced by the legendary The Standard Pennant Co. out of Big Run, PA. This jacket was standard-issue gear for a volunteer member of the Huntingdon, PA ambulance corps. Maker History: The Standard Pennant Co. was a renowned American manufacturer known for its high-quality custom pennants, varsity jackets, and intricate hand-sewn felt embroidery. Due to catastrophic floods in Big Run in 1977 and 1996, the company’s original archives and design records were lost, making their surviving products rare collectibles for enthusiasts of vintage Americana. Purpose & Construction: Purpose: This was standard-issue gear for a volunteer member of the Huntingdon, PA, ambulance corps, featuring high-visibility lettering and a red cross on the back for emergency operations. Personalization: The name "Barry" is embroidered on the chest. Materials: Constructed from durable, heavy-duty wool with a distinctive green rayon-twill satin lining. Design Details: Features period-accurate markers, including two-tone shoulder piping and striped rib-knit cuffs. Condition: Excellent vintage condition with clean embroidery.
