Caran d'Ache Varius Rubracer Ballpoint Pen — Guillochage & Rhodium TrimBrand New | Never Used | Original Box & Paperwork | Made in Switzerland━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ABOUT THIS PENThe Varius Rubracer Ballpoint is one of the most tactilely distinctive pens Caran d'Ache makes. Where most luxury ballpoints use lacquered metal, this one is built around genuine black vulcanite rubber over a hexagonal brass frame — the same material prized in fine watchmaking for its grip, warmth, and durability. The entire barrel and cap are hand-engraved with guillochage lines, and the contrast between the matte rubber surface and the polished rhodium-coated silver trim is striking in a way photos don't fully capture. The mechanism is a precision push-button retract — smooth and deliberate, with none of the plasticky feel you'd expect at a lower price point. The clip is hinged rather than rigid, so it flexes when clipping to a pocket. The cap end features Caran d'Ache's black lacquered hexagon identification emblem, a detail introduced in the updated Varius line.Caran d'Ache has manufactured exclusively in Geneva, Switzerland since 1915 and produces everything in-house — including the Goliath refill system.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━SPECIFICATIONS• Brand: Caran d'Ache (Geneva, Switzerland)• Model: Varius Rubracer Ballpoint• Body: Hexagonal genuine rubber (vulcanite) over brass• Decoration: Guillochage engraving on barrel and cap• Trim: Rhodium and silver-coated — hinged clip, push-button mechanism• Cap end: Black lacquered hexagon Caran d'Ache emblem• Length (closed): 135.1 mm | Diameter: 9.7 mm (~5.3 inches)• Refill: Caran d'Ache Goliath M (Medium, Black) — included• Compatible with: All Caran d'Ache Goliath cartridges• Made in Switzerland━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━WHAT'S INCLUDED Pen — brand new, never used Original Caran d'Ache presentation box All original paperwork Caran d'Ache Goliath M refill (Medium, Black) — installedNote: The Goliath cartridge is one of the longest-lasting ballpoint refills available — Caran d'Ache's own figures put it at roughly the equivalent of 18 standard refills.
