Vintage British RAF / Air Ministry aircraft navigational compass Type P8 with original wooden storage case. Marked: “A.M.” (Air Ministry) “Type P8” “REF No 6A/0.729” Compass appears operational. Needle responds and settles when the compass is rotated. Features original gimbal-style mounting assembly and period wooden transport/storage case with green felt interior. Approximate measurements: Case height: about 5.5–6 in Approximate total weight: 3 lb 11 oz Condition shows authentic age and use including: scratches paint wear/loss oxidation/patina wear to wood case interior age wear finish loss and edge wear Glass appears intact.
