Vintage Seth Thomas Exeter-W mantel clock, model E538-001, featuring a traditional wooden case, Roman numeral dial, brass-tone carrying handle, and an 8-day key-wind mechanical movement. This clock has been tested and is working properly. It keeps accurate time and was observed running correctly. The strike mechanism functions as intended, chiming once on the half hour and striking the correct number of times on the hour. The original Seth Thomas model label and operating instructions remain attached inside the case. The wood case presents beautifully with light age-related wear consistent with normal use. The glass door is intact and opens properly. A wonderful American-made mantel clock that is both decorative and functional, ideal for collectors, home décor, office display, or everyday use.Important note: The small rear hand-setting knob/adapter is missing. The clock has been tested and is working properly, keeps accurate time, and strikes correctly, but adjusting/setting the hands may require a proper replacement setting knob/adapter or assistance from someone familiar with vintage mechanical clocks. Please see the rear photos for the setting hole location.
