Authentic antique cable temple eyeglasses with original leather case. Dating to the late 19th – early 20th century (Victorian era). These are early cable temple (riding bow) eyeglasses, a transitional design before modern straight-arm frames. The original case is clearly marked: “Lord & Lowell, Jewelers & Opticians, Granite Bank Building, Augusta, Maine.” This retailer marking provides strong historical provenance and enhances collectible value. The glasses feature oval lenses with a metal frame and long curved cable temples designed to wrap behind the ears. The case shows heavy wear but remains an important original component rarely found with these early glasses.
