1953 Agromeck – North Carolina State College Yearbook – Raleigh, NC Original 1953 edition of The Agromeck, published by the students of North Carolina State College (now North Carolina State University) in Raleigh, North Carolina. A substantial vintage college yearbook featuring student portraits, campus life, organizations, fraternities, ROTC, athletics, football, basketball, baseball, advertisements, and numerous photographs documenting NC State during the early 1950s. Of particular interest is the extensive athletics section featuring legendary NC State basketball coach Everett Case, including a large portrait and the 1952–53 Wolfpack basketball team. Case was later inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The basketball section also includes players such as Bobby Speight, Mel Thompson, Ronnie Shavlik, Bill Kukoy, Dick Tyler, and others, along with game photographs, season information and honors. The baseball section includes Johnny Yvars, identified in the yearbook with 1952 All-America Third Team and All-Southern First Team honors, as well as Lunsford Lewis, Jack Turney and other members of the NC State baseball program. Approximately 323 pages. Previous owner’s name “Steve Ellis Godfrey” is handwritten inside. A great piece of NC State history and an appealing collectible for alumni, Wolfpack fans, vintage sports collectors, basketball history collectors, and North Carolina memorabilia collectors. Condition: Good vintage condition for its age. The hardcover has visible wear, rubbing, scratches/scuffs and finish loss, especially along the spine, edges and corners. Interior pages show age toning and some scattered spotting/foxing. Handwritten previous-owner name inside. Binding remains intact. No attempt has been made to identify every person or inspect every page for writing, marks, small tears or other age-related imperfections. Please examine all photos carefully.
