Vintage porcelain doll-form pincushion with a full fabric skirt, molded light-colored curls, blue hair bows, porcelain hands, and brown-painted shoes visible beneath the skirt. A charming collectible sewing doll for a doll collection, sewing-room display, or vintage boudoir décor. DETAILS • Molded porcelain head and shoulder plate. • Light-colored curled hair with two painted blue bows. • Painted facial details, now partially worn. • Porcelain hands and brown-painted shoes. • Full beige/tan fabric skirt with pale blue neckline trim. • Rigid circular base beneath the fabric skirt; internal material is unknown. • Back of the shoulder plate marked “PATENT NO 30441.” • Approximately 4 inches tall; please see measuring-tape photographs for approximate size. IDENTIFICATION AND AGE The patent marking is associated in doll reference literature with Japanese shoulder-head dolls attributed to Kusutaroh Nakamura from 1914 onward. This example is tentatively attributed to Japan based on that marking. The exact manufacturer and production year have not been independently verified. No visible “Nippon,” “Japan,” or “Germany” country marking has been identified. Listed as a half-doll-style pincushion based on its appearance and construction. The age and originality of the fabric, trim, base, and assembly are unknown. Repair and restoration history are unknown. CONDITION DETAILS This piece has visible wear and is offered in its current condition: • Fabric discoloration, spots, fading, and worn areas. • A small hole in the skirt, shown in the close-up photograph. • Fraying, loose threads, and wear around fabric edges and attachment areas. • Paint loss and rubbing on the face, blue hair bows, and brown shoes. • Surface dirt and small scattered marks. • Both shoes/feet are present beneath the skirt. Please handle the fabric and attached porcelain parts gently. Suitable for collection, display, or restoration. WHAT IS INCLUDED One doll pincushion, exactly as photographed. No box, pins, or additional accessories are included. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description. Colors may vary depending on lighting and screen settings. Measuring tape is shown for reference and is not included. The item will be carefully packed to protect the porcelain parts during shipping.1906
