Striking vintage Chinese-style robe featuring exceptionally detailed figural and floral embroidery on an ivory satin-finish background.The elaborate decoration depicts traditionally dressed women within garden scenes surrounded by flowers, trees, architecture and scrolling borders. The embroidery appears to incorporate tiny Peking-knot-style stitches, other traditional embroidery stitches and extensive metallic-thread couching. Navy piping and frog-style closures finish the front.No maker, fiber-content or country-of-origin label is present.
