New Old Stock / Deadstock vintage Montgomery Ward Powrhouse article 110 denim jeans made in the USA. These were supposedly made for the utility or work wear line and were designed to be more durable than their traditional jeans. This comes through in the triple stitch construction. The rear tear tags are remarkably still intact. Jeans are unwashed and unworn and are in excellent, crisp condition. Tag indicates a 40w x 30L with a 75% Cotton 25% Nylon mix. Along with the yellow Montgomery Ward tag on the back side this should put the age around the1960's or early 1970's from my research. Scovill zipper and stylized snap closure. 7-pocket carpenter style without the hammer loop. The denim detail is amazing in this condition, and you can see the individual threads. This pair exhibits some unique manufacturing variation in weave and fabric formation with a visible line across one leg and a "L" formation on the backside of the other leg. Additionally, one leg has a slightly miscut leg bottom resulting a slight curve on the hem that drops approximately 1/4" below the forward side of the hem.
