Available for purchase is a beautiful turn-of-the-century Antique Mogul Carriage Bell (Bermuda Foot Gong). This heavy-duty piece is an authentic slice of late-19th to early-20th-century transportation history. Originally designed to mount flush through the floorboards of a horse-drawn buggy, carriage, or early brass-era luxury automobile, it served as Model: MOGUL Carriage Bell. Markings: The cast iron floor plate is crisply embossed with: MOGUL CARRIAGE BELL and MADE IN U.S.A. Display Ready: This unit has been expertly custom-mounted into a rustic, hand-carved primitive green-painted wooden upright display plaque. The plaque features a recessed cutout allowing the original floor baseplate to sit completely flush, making it a perfect standalone conversation piece for a shelf, desk, or mantle.Condition and Functionality Note: Decorative / Sound Display Use: While the internal mechanical floor plunger components are not present or serviced, the bell casing is completely solid and produces a wonderful, loud, clear antique ring sound when struck manually. The sound of the ring varies with whatever you strike it with.Cosmetics: The bell casing shows a wonderful authentic aged patina with minor surface oxidation and wear expected with its 100 plus year age, giving it a fantastic historic look. The green paint on the wooden stand shows beautiful primitive weathering and distressing.
