Note these appear to be orginal kugal ornaments but im not an expert.Up for sale is a matched set of six (6) heavy mercury glass egg-shaped ornaments. These pieces feature the thick-walled construction and high-quality hardware characteristic of early glasswork. Physical Specifications Quantity: 6 Ornaments Total Textures: 3 "Fish Scale" / Honeycomb textured eggs and 3 Smooth eggs Hardware: All 6 feature identical, ornate star-pattern caps Metal: Non-magnetic (brass/copper) with an original dark aged lacquer finish ("Japan Black") Hangers: Includes the original lacy-style hanging ribbons Individual Weights Each ornament has been individually weighed for total accuracy: Textured (Scaled) Eggs: 4.5 oz, 4.4 oz, and 4.0 oz Smooth Eggs: 3.8 oz, 3.3 oz, and 2.4 oz Condition & Authenticity Glass: Excellent condition with no chips or cracks Appearance: Features beautiful "foxing" (mercury silvering loss and spotting) inside the glass, providing a genuine aged patina Hand-Blown Marks: To confirm they are hand-crafted, one smooth egg has a raised glass "string" squiggle from production, and one scaled egg features a tiny internal air bubble. Note on Construction: The caps are firmly seated and low-profile as far I can tell. They have not been removed to preserve the integrity of the ornaments and they want budge. Provenience Note: These have been tested for weight and magnetism. The heavy-walled construction and non-magnetic brass hardware are markers of quality "Kugel Style" glass. The ornaments feel solid not thin glass but they will be each individually bubble wrapped and shipped with care.The last pic is how they have been and will be display here for the last 7 years originally bought from a Christmas vintage decor estate sale.
