Antique 1854 Samuel Johnson "Lives of the English Poets" - Complete 3-Volume Set Up for sale is a complete, hard-to-find 1854 antique three-volume set of "Lives of the Most Eminent English Poets" by the legendary Samuel Johnson. This sought-after edition features corrective and explanatory notes by Peter Cunningham and was published in London by John Murray as part of the prestigious "Murray's British Classics" series. Item Specifications: Author: Samuel Johnson Editor: Peter Cunningham, F.S.A. Publisher: John Murray, London (1854) Format: Hardcover, embossed cloth with gilt spine lettering Volume Count: Complete Set (Vols. I, II, and III) Provenance: Ex-library copy ("Francis Bacon Library" and "Bacon Library" withdrawal stamps), includes a beautiful vintage "Ex Libris" bookplate of Isabelle Brown.
