Beautiful Vintage Pre-1948 Mexican Sterling Silver & Carved White Onyx Hatpin / Long Stick PinUp for sale is a gorgeous, authentic piece of mid-century Mexican artisan jewelry. Measuring an impressive 4.25 inches in length, this long stick pin was traditionally used as a hatpin or scarf/shawl pin. The focal point features a stunning, intricately hand-carved white onyx gemstone shaped like a tropical leaf or hibiscus flower, displaying a beautiful natural translucent luster under the light.The reverse side is securely set in a classic six-pointed star bezel design and is stamped with the historic "SILVER MEXICO" hallmark. This specific layout guarantees a metal purity of at least .925 sterling silver and dates the craftsmanship to the pre-1948 era, before the implementation of the eagle assay system. The pin is in excellent vintage condition with a straight shaft and a wonderful natural patina that collectors love.
