Styled in the fashion of historic large wooden chests traditionally used in Japan to transport bulk tea, this multi-purpose storage box features exquisite craftsmanship and timeless aesthetic appeal.Artistic Details & Lid Pattern**The lid is covered in a brilliant, tight sheet of handmade Japanese washi paper featuring a screen-printed diagonal design:* **Chrysanthemums (Kiku) & Cherry Blossoms (Sakura):** Traditional symbols representing longevity, renewal, and the fleeting beauty of spring.* **Seigaiha Wave Accents:** The classic golden arched-wave patterns, symbolizing a wish for surges of good fortune.* **Kanoko Shibori Dapple Texture:** A delicate black-and-white patterned backdrop styled after luxury, tie-dyed kimono fabrics. **Functional Lined Interior**True to traditional chabako (tea chest) utility, the interior is built with a sealed metallic tin lining. Rather than using fabric, this authentic lining blocks light and seals out outside humidity, making it perfect for storing specialty loose tea, or archiving delicate jewelry, old stamps, and family photographs.Condition Report*** **Paper Top:** Excellent condition.
