From Shenango China in New Castle, PA, USA this is a decorative ceramic dish dated 1948. Condition is like-new, undamaged. The theme is Christmas; the dish has a central cartoon image printed in red, white and shades of brown. The image is an American Indian male dressed as Santa Claus; he is wearing the traditional red suit trimmed with white fur and he holds a Santa mask. The plate is decorated with the phrase "Heap Big Holiday Wish" in green letters along the top edge and "Shenango Tribe 1948", also in green letters, along the lower edge. Condition is like-new; no damage. The artist is not identified. The plate's back is decorated with Shenango China's trademarked image of an Indian male making a pot. The plate, which has a gold rim around the outer and inner edges, measures 10.75 inches in diameter with a weight of 1 pound 4.5 ounces. It is 0.5 inches high; condition is like-new, undamaged.Shipment is by US Postal Service Ground Advantage mail.
