15 Gray Borders That Survived the 70s (Unlike Your Dad’s Bell Bottoms) Let’s be honest: 1970 was a rough year. The Beatles broke up, Nixon was doing... Nixon things, and these cards were being stuck into bicycle spokes with clothespins. Somehow, these 15 survivors escaped the "vroom-vroom" fate and stayed in Excellent condition. This lot is perfect for the set-builder who is tired of looking at "Good" condition cards that look like they were laundered with a pair of jeans. We’ve got Paul Blair (#285) looking like he’s ready to rob a home run and Larry Hisle (#288) in his All-Star Rookie glory.Condition Report: Corners: Sharper than a 1970s disco collar. Borders: That classic gray that says "I’m sophisticated, but I still like hot dogs." Smell: Virtually zero trace of 54-year-old bubble gum (sorry, sugar addicts).
