Vintage Taxco Mexico Sterling Silver Pendant, MB Maker Circle Mark, Eagle 3, Mid-Century Modernist Oval Amazonite PendantOverviewFor your consideration is an exceptional piece of mid-century Mexican jewelry art: a striking Modernist statement pendant handcrafted in the historic silversmithing hub of Taxco, Mexico. Dating between 1948 and the late 1970s, this piece showcases the distinctive hallmarks of the highly collectible, anonymous master workshop signed with the intertwined "MB" inside a circle.Design & GemstoneThe centerpiece of this striking architectural design is a large, high-gloss oval cabochon of natural Amazonite (historically referenced in vintage trade catalogs as a variety of "Mexican Jade"). The stone exhibits a beautiful, rich forest-green body with the classic light-colored mottling, cloudy matrix, and fine feldspar veining that collectors seek out. It is securely bezel-set within a strong geometric frame accented by classic Mexican twisted rope wire detailing and balanced silver step studs.Wearability NoteWhile originally crafted as a dual-purpose brooch/pendant, the pin needle has been historically removed from the back. It features a fully intact, heavy integrated silver top bail and is ready to be styled immediately as a prominent, eye-catching focal piece on a silver chain, neck ring, or leather cord.
