Vintage Taxco Mexico Sterling Silver Pendant, MB Maker Circle Mark, Eagle 3, Mid-Century Modernist Oval Amazonite PendantOverviewFor your consideration is an exceptional piece of mid-century Mexican jewelry art: a striking Modernist statement pendant handcrafted in the historic silversmithing hub of Taxco, Mexico. Dating between 1948 and the late 1970s, this piece showcases the distinctive hallmarks of the highly collectible, anonymous master workshop signed with the intertwined "MB" inside a circle.Design & GemstoneThe centerpiece of this striking architectural design is a large, high-gloss oval cabochon of natural Amazonite (historically referenced in vintage trade catalogs as a variety of "Mexican Jade"). The stone exhibits a beautiful, rich forest-green body with the classic light-colored mottling, cloudy matrix, and fine feldspar veining that collectors seek out. It is securely bezel-set within a strong geometric frame accented by classic Mexican twisted rope wire detailing and balanced silver step studs.Wearability NoteWhile originally crafted as a dual-purpose brooch/pendant, the pin needle has been historically removed from the back. It features a fully intact, heavy integrated silver top bail and is ready to be styled immediately as a prominent, eye-catching focal piece on a silver chain, neck ring, or leather cord. SPECIFICATIONS & HALLMARKSOrigin: Taxco, MexicoEra: Mid-Century (circa 1950s–1970s)Artisan Workshop: Signed MB (Intertwined initials within a circular frame)Government Assay Stamp: Official Eagle 3 silhouette (Assigned to top-tier Taxco workshops)Metal Purity: Solid Sterling Silver (Guaranteed 925/1000 or greater based on Eagle 3 assay)Gemstone: Natural Amazonite (Mottled Green Feldspar) CONDITION REPORTOverall Grade: Good Vintage Condition (Hardware Alteration).Hardware Status: The reverse pin stem (the long needle mechanism) is completely missing. The original soldered silver hinge joint and safety catch blocks remain securely attached on the reverse. The integrated top pendant bail is completely intact, robust, and fully functional for necklace wear.Silver Finish: Shows a magnificent, deep, uncleaned natural patina and vintage tarnish that beautifully highlights the geometric recesses and rope details. The metal displays expected, very light micro-scratching on the reverse consistent with age and careful ownership. It has intentionally not been chemically dipped or machine-polished.Gemstone Face: Excellent. The large Amazonite cabochon is rock-solid in its setting. The face retains a stunning, glossy polish with no impact cracks, deep scratches, or missing material.Hallmarks: Stamped deeply and remaining incredibly crisp, clear, and perfectly legible for collector verification.Overall Grade: Good Vintage Condition (Hardware Alteration).
