Item Description:Beautiful vintage 1940s/1950s shield-shaped gold-tone powder compact by Elgin American. Features a sleek, modernist brushed vertical stripe pattern on the exterior lid and a smooth, elegant reverse side. Condition Notes:- Mechanism: The hinge and front clasp work perfectly and close securely.- Exterior: Great vintage condition with minor surface wear and bright gold-tone coloring. The smooth back side is unmonogrammed with only minor surface micro-scratches and a couple of small tarnish specks. No dents.- Interior: The original glass mirror is firmly intact, though it shows a distinct area of silvering loss/dark spotting in the center as pictured.
