Up for sale is a lovely vintage porcelain miniature trinket dish / small wall plaque featuring the classic children's bedtime prayer, "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep". Made in Japan by Anco, this square porcelain dish features a sweet mid-century illustration of a young girl kneeling by her bed in prayer. It features a beautiful gold-gilded, feather-burst style trim that gives it an elegant retro look. Equipped with its original orange hanging cord, it can be displayed flat on a vanity or hung as a piece of nursery wall decor. Item Details & Features Brand/Manufacturer: Anco Origin: Made in Japan (retains its original red and gold triangular foil sticker on the reverse side). Graphic Details: Features a detailed illustration of a little girl in pink pajamas kneeling on a rug next to a classic wooden bed with a plaid blanket. The full text on the scroll reads: "Now I Lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take. God bless everybody." Design Elements: Square shape with slightly upturned corners and a distinct spattered or feathered gold trim along the rim. Dimensions Width: Approximately 3.25 inches wide. Height: Approximately 3.25 inches tall. Condition Note This vintage dish is in very good cosmetic condition. The front graphic remains bright, crisp, and free of scratches, while the gold gilt border shows minimal wear. The porcelain structure is free of major cracks or chips along the front rim. On the reverse side, the original triangle foil label is intact, and the orange hanging string is securely tied through the built-in porcelain loops. There is a tiny, minor dark manufacturing mark or pin-point glaze pop on the top right back corner edge, and some light, age-appropriate shelf wear/dust on the unglazed base ring.
