Up for sale is a beautiful original vintage canvas painting of red poppies, boasting excellent regional provenance! The reverse side of the wood frame reveals a printed biographical label identifying the artist as Maxine Kennedy Smith Couron (1918–1991), a 1936 graduate of Roseburg High School in Roseburg, Oregon. The canvas is mounted over professional vintage wood stretchers bearing the maker's stamp from "Barragzer Custom Canvas" out of Buena Park, California.This piece is a wonderful find for collectors of mid-century Pacific Northwest regional art, Oregon history, or classic floral oil and acrylic fine arts.
