The front image captures a vintage steam train engine actively chugging along one of the highest tiers of the mountain switchbacks.<br><br>The Argentine Central Railway was a tourist and mining line constructed in 1905, reaching an astounding elevation near Mount McClellan and Gray's Peak.<br><br>Coined the "Stairway to the Clouds," it utilized an extreme series of steep switchbacks carved into the rugged mountain slopes to transport sightseers and silver ore.<br><br>The line went bankrupt and was dismantled before World War I, making early photographic records of its precarious tracks highly prized by railroad historians.<br><br>Size: Standard 3.5 x 5.5"<br><br>Era: Divided Back Era (circa 1907–1915)<br><br>Publisher: Williamson-Haffner Co., Denver, Colorado<br><br>Condition: Tear on right side, edge wear, creasing, paper aging<br><br>This is an authentic vintage item.
