Step back into the immediate aftermath of World War II with this evocative, lady-portrait-themed three-piece collection of early post-war Hungarian banknotes from 1945. This historic set traces the opening stages of the country's legendary hyperinflation crisis, featuring the blue 500 Ötszáz Pengő, the gray-green 1,000 Ezer Pengő, and the terracotta 10,000 Tízezer Pengő banknotes, each adorned with elegant classical female allegories. Notably, the 1,000 Pengő note bears a prominent red "MNB" (Magyar Nemzeti Bank) tax overprint stamp, a critical numismatic feature from the December 1945 currency reform when the government stamped circulating bills to manage the collapsing economy.
