Rare and unusual vintage women’s hat manufactured from molded expanded polystyrene foam (EPS). The hat features an attractive textured surface, wide brim, and original striped ribbon with a large decorative bow.Research indicates these hats were produced by Expanded Polystyrene Cup Corporation, a U.S. manufacturer known for molded polystyrene products. Similar examples have been identified as dating to the 1970s, making this an interesting and collectible example of American novelty millinery.The white textured finish creates a woven or basket-like appearance while remaining lightweight. The soft striped ribbon in cream, tan, gold, and rose tones gives the hat a classic Easter and church-fashion look.This piece would display beautifully in a vintage hat collection, costume collection, theatrical wardrobe, Easter display, or Americana collection.The hat body remains solid and retains its original shape.
