Offered for sale is an original antique Hoyt Rotary D.C. Volt-Ammeter, manufactured by Hoyt Electrical Instrument Works, Penacook, New Hampshire, U.S.A., dating to approximately 1910–1925. This early electrical measuring instrument features its original polished wooden case, rotary meter movement, black Bakelite terminals, metal range plates, and original manufacturer identification plaque. The meter face is marked: Hoyt Rotary D.C. Volt-Ammeter Made in U.S.A. The instrument provides multiple measurement ranges, including: 150 Volts 7.5 Volts 7.5 Amps 75 Milliamps 15 Milliamps An especially desirable feature of this example is the survival of the original internal factory instruction sheets and inspection/warranty papers, which remain partially intact inside the base compartment. The meter movement appears free and responsive when the instrument is gently tilted. No electrical testing has been performed to avoid potential damage to this antique instrument. This is an excellent example of early American scientific and electrical instrumentation and would make a wonderful addition to a collection of antique scientific instruments, electrical testing equipment, laboratory apparatus, or industrial history artifacts.
