Original U.S. Army aluminum canteen from World War II. The bottom of the canteen is clearly marked: U.S. G.P.&F. CO. 1944 The canteen includes its original black Bakelite screw cap with retaining chain and an original WWII-era canvas cover. The cover retains a partially legible manufacturer/date stamp indicating a 1940s production period, although the exact maker and date are no longer readable. This is an authentic wartime field item that would make an excellent addition to any WWII militaria collection, reenactment kit, or military display.
