Offered as a wonderful vintage American patriotic display set featuring an authentic-style 48-star United States flag, a triangular wooden flag display case, and a vintage United States Marine Corps “How to Respect and Display Our Flag” booklet. 48-Star American Flag The flag has the historic 48-star configuration used by the United States from 1912 through 1959, before Alaska and Hawaii were added to the Union. Features include: 48-star configuration 13 red and white stripes Approximately 32 x 50 inches Individual red and white fabric sections joined by stitching Printed stars Heavy white hoist/header Two metal grommets Strong naturally aged patriotic appearance No manufacturer label or date marking was found. Because the 48-star flag was used for many decades, the exact manufacture date is unknown and no specific military or wartime attribution is being made. Wooden Flag Display Case Also included is a handsome triangular wooden display case suitable for displaying the flag in its traditional folded configuration. The natural wood finish complements the aged colors of the flag beautifully. The case is pre-owned and shows cosmetic wear consistent with age and use. The transparent front has scratches/scuffs visible under light. Please see photographs for the case’s construction and condition.
