Vintage Thalhimers Shopping Plate / Charge Card – Defunct Department Store Original vintage Thalhimers shopping plate issued to Mr. Nathan A. Pace Jr. of Knightdale, North Carolina. Thalhimers was a historic American department store chain with a long presence in the Southern United States. The Thalhimers name ultimately disappeared from retail, making surviving branded items interesting pieces of regional department-store and American retail history. The front features the classic script “Thalhimers” logo along with the cardholder’s embossed information. The reverse features the large Thalhimers – The Fashion Stores logo and original printed terms identifying the item as a “shopping plate” intended to be honored at Thalhimers stores.
