Antique Reinthal & Newman N.Y. “The Age of Innocence” Framed Print Beautiful early 20th-century framed reproduction of “The Age of Innocence,” after the celebrated painting by Sir Joshua Reynolds (1723–1792). The lower left of the image is clearly marked: “REINTHAL & NEWMAN N.Y.” Reinthal & Newman was a New York publisher/distributor of fine-art reproductions during the early 20th century. Period advertising documents Reinthal & Newman distributing The Age of Innocence by Sir Joshua Reynolds by 1910. This listing does not represent the present example as having been printed specifically in 1910; its exact production date has not been independently verified. Presented under glass in an attractive old gold-tone wood frame with decorative detailing. The reverse retains an extensively aged backing and old hanging wire. A handwritten “199” appears on the reverse. It may be an inventory, catalog or ownership notation; its exact meaning and date are unknown. Approximate overall framed size: 13 1/2” H × 10 1/2” W Please refer to measurement photos. This is a period reproduction/print after Sir Joshua Reynolds and is NOT represented as an original work by Reynolds. The frame and glass are included. Their originality to the print cannot be confirmed. Due to the age of the piece, normal imperfections should be expected. Please enlarge and examine all photographs for condition, construction, markings and details before purchasing. Sold as shown.1765
