Vintage Framed “Boy and Rabbit” Print After Sir Henry Raeburn Charming vintage framed reproduction of Sir Henry Raeburn’s well-known portrait “Boy and Rabbit,” based on the original painting dating to approximately 1814. The image depicts a young boy seated beside a white rabbit and is presented under glass in an ornate gilt-tone wooden frame. This appears to be an older decorative reproduction. The exact age, printing method, publisher and manufacturer of this particular example are unknown. No publisher’s label or identifying mark was found on the visible back. The handwritten number “199” appears on the old paper backing and is not represented as a date. Approximate visible image size is 10” × 13”. Please refer to the measurement photos for the most accurate dimensions. The frame has attractive age-related character and patina. There is visible finish loss, rubbing, scratches, small chips and other wear. The paper backing is heavily aged and has tears, losses and deterioration, particularly around the edges. An older hanging wire is attached to the back. The print has not been removed from the frame, so areas concealed by the frame and backing have not been inspected. We cannot verify the exact age or printing process. Please examine all photos carefully before purchasing. Photos are part of the description and show the actual item you will receive. A lovely decorative piece for a traditional, Victorian, cottage, English country or antique-inspired interior. Sold as pictured.1764
