Size and condition above come from the listing. The description below is the seller’s own text.

Vintage original hand-painted dog portrait titled “Alert,” presented in a brown wooden frame. The portrait depicts a long-haired dog resembling a Collie or Shetland Sheepdog, painted in warm brown, tan, and cream tones against a green background. Visible brushwork gives the coat and facial features texture and expression. The painting is executed on a rigid, textured Whitman Art Panels artist board. Whitman is the manufacturer of the painting support. The exact paint medium has not been confirmed; it is therefore offered as a painting on artist board without a definitive oil or acrylic designation. A red painted signature or set of initials appears at the lower right. Handwritten inscriptions on the reverse include the title “Alert,” a name appearing to read Cathy Critcher, and a date appearing to read March 1969. The handwriting, particularly the final date digit, is somewhat difficult to interpret. Please examine the close-up photographs for your own assessment. The artist’s identity and biography have not been independently verified. Attribution is based solely on the visible inscriptions; no documented provenance or certificate of authenticity is included. APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS Artist panel: 11″ wide × 14″ high Overall dimensions including frame: 15½″ wide × 18½″ high Measurements are approximate. The frame overlaps the panel edges, so the visible painted area is smaller than the full panel. CONDITION DETAILS The painting and frame show age-related wear as pictured. Small dark specks and surface marks are visible on the painted area. The frame has scratches, scuffs, nicks, and finish loss. The reverse has yellowing, brown spotting, discoloration, and edge wear. A hanging wire is present on the back. The buyer should inspect the wire and attachment points before hanging. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description and show the actual item offered. Color appearance may vary with photography, lighting, and individual display settings. INCLUDED One framed painting, exactly as pictured. The painting will be carefully packed with protective cushioning and corner protection for shipping.1922
