Size and condition above come from the listing. The description below is the seller’s own text.
Vintage King James Version Holy Bible, published by The World Publishing Company, Cleveland and New York, accompanied by a decorative wooden storage box shaped like a book. The Bible has a white cover, gold-colored lettering, rounded cover corners, and gilt page edges. The title page identifies it as a Self-Pronouncing edition, with pronunciation markings for biblical names. The hinged wooden box features decorative grooves resembling book pages, “The Holy Bible” lettering, and an applied portrait image of Jesus. The box maker, wood species, and whether the Bible and box were originally sold together are unknown. Publication date This edition is undated. A handwritten presentation inscription is dated 1975, suggesting that this copy was published in 1975 or earlier. The inscription is a gift date, not a printed publication date. First-edition or first-printing status has not been established. Pagination Old Testament: 582 numbered pages. New Testament: 179 numbered pages, with numbering restarting separately. Combined total: 761 numbered pages, plus unnumbered preliminary and family record pages. Approximate measurements Wooden box, closed: 10 × 7 × 3 inches. Bible: 8 × 5½ inches. Measurements are approximate; please refer to the ruler photos. Condition details Age-related yellowing and toning to the paper. Light wear and marks to the white cover. Handwritten gift inscription on the presentation page. No obvious highlighting or underlining visible on the photographed text pages; every page has not been individually inspected. Scratches, scuffs, and finish wear on the wooden box. Natural variations and knots in the wood. Cover material has not been verified as genuine leather. Includes one Bible and one wooden storage box, exactly as pictured. Photos form part of the description. Colors may vary with lighting and screen settings. Both pieces will be carefully packed for shipping.
