This beautiful vintage sugar bowl is from the renowned Noritake company, bearing the Noritake-Wesley (NW) mark with the pattern code FB-59, indicating it was released around 1959. History & Features Manufacturer: The Noritake Company, a premier producer of fine china, most notably from Japan .The company's history dates back to the late 19th century, known for its high-quality, elegant, and often elaborately decorated porcelain. Pattern: The elegant "French Bouquet" pattern features a lovely cluster of pink, yellow, and purple roses on an ivory/pale green ground. Design: The porcelain is molded with a distinct scalloped, shell-like edge and features a charming gold-colored frog or bow-shaped finial on the lid and delicate gold-tone handles. Regarding the Gold Inlay The gold accents on this piece, including the handles, the finial, and the trim, are hand-applied gold enamel or gilt. Wear: It is most likely that the rubbing or wear you see on the gold inlay is due to age and use (e.g., washing and handling) over the decades since 1959.
