Vintage Late 1950s DKW Auto Union 1000 / 3=6 Speedometer Gauge Core by VDO — Bare Internal Mechanism — For Parts or Restoration — UntestedUp for sale is an original VDO Analog Speedometer Gauge Core Mechanism, manufactured in West Germany during the late 1950s. This style with the iconic gold/bronze spiral center dial face was featured on DKW 3=6 (F93/F94) and Auto Union 1000 models. The odometer wheels currently show 58,649 km. IMPORTANT CONDITION & PARTS NOTE (PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING):Missing Components: This listing is for the bare internal gauge core mechanism ONLY. It is completely missing the rear protective metal canister/housing shell, the front glass lens, and the outer decorative chrome bezel ring. It is being sold exactly as pictured.Functional Status: This unit is completely UNTESTED and sold strictly AS-IS for parts, donor core, or a major rebuild project. We do not have the technical tools or drive cables to test the mechanical movements, accuracy, or odometer gears.Cosmetics: The dial face shows normal vintage aging, light surface dust, and patina. The bright orange indicator needle is intact. The brass and steel gears on the back show normal oxidation and old grease residue from decades of garage storage.
