Vintage April 1957 DKW Auto Union 3=6 Speedometer by VDO — 90 M.P.H. Export Edition — Completely UntestedUp for sale is a rare, highly collectible piece of classic European automotive and motorcycle history: an original VDO Mechanical Speedometer Gauge, manufactured in West Germany. This unit features the factory rear date stamp 4.57, officially dating its production to April 1957. This is a scarce export market edition featuring the speed scale calibrated in M.P.H. (Miles Per Hour).This specific design features a circular chrome bezel and a unique textured gray mesh/dot patterned center dial face, which was featured on luxury export variants of the DKW 3=6 (F93/F94) during the late 1950s. The odometer currently reads a low 2,620 miles. An exceptional find for early classic German car restoration projects looking for period-correct date-coded parts, vintage gauge collectors, or high-end garage retro decor. TESTING, RUST & COSMETIC NOTE (PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING):Functional Status: This gauge is sold completely UNTESTED and strictly AS-IS for parts, repair, or restoration. We do not have the technical equipment or cables to benchmark or spin the internal gear mechanism. The needle sits at zero, but full operational accuracy is unknown.Cosmetics & Rust: The front presentation of the gauge looks good—the chrome bezel is bright with minor wear and the glass is clear. However, the outer metal rear casing and backplate have developed heavy surface rust, pitting, and patina from decades of storage (please study the profile and rear photos closely).
