Unusual vintage Royall Lyme Toilet Lotion original-style product wrapper/packaging from Bermuda, preserved and displayed in an older decorative frame. This is not a bottle of lotion. The listing is for the framed paper advertising/packaging piece shown in the photographs. The unfolded printed wrapper reads: ROYALL LYME TOILET LOTION Infallible Refresher for the Whole Family and advertises its use for bath, after-shave, massage and body cologne. The lower portion is marked: ROYALL LYME TOILET LOTION Prepared and Sold, Wholesale and Retail by Royall Lyme Limited TEN FLUID OUNCES IMPORTED — MADE IN BERMUDA The wrapper contains extensive period advertising text as well as a “CERTIFICATES” section with testimonials attributed to several individuals, including: Helen Hayes Claudette Colbert Rise Stevens June Havoc Don McCarthy Lady Solomon Robert Symonette WAX SEAL REMNANTS One of the most interesting features of this piece is the presence of several dark reddish-brown wax fragments still attached to the paper. Royall Lyme packaging is known for being folded around the product and secured with distinctive wax seals. The surviving fragments on this unfolded wrapper appear consistent with remnants of those seals. The wax has not been tested or professionally authenticated, and no claim is made regarding its exact composition. All wax fragments have intentionally been left untouched. Please see the close-up photographs. PAPER / WRAPPER The numerous folds and creases visible throughout the sheet are consistent with the paper having previously been folded as product packaging before being opened and displayed flat. The wrapper has considerable age-related wear, including folds, creasing, wrinkles, discoloration, small tears, marks, and losses. Nothing has been cleaned, flattened, restored, or repaired by the current owner. FRAME The wrapper is displayed behind glass in an older decorative gold-tone frame. The frame has an aged finish with visible patina, discoloration, scratches, scuffs and finish wear. The back has an older cardboard backing with paper/tape around the perimeter and a wire hanger. The age and manufacturer of the frame are unknown. The frame is included with the sale and is being sold in its present condition. APPROXIMATE SIZE Overall framed dimensions are approximately: 16” × 14” Please refer to the measurement photographs for the best indication of actual size. AGE Vintage — exact date unknown. Royall Lyme dates to the mid-20th century, but the exact production date of this particular wrapper has not been independently established.
