Vintage New Imperial G.I. Mix & Co. metal coffee pot or individual coffee server featuring a tall tapered body, long curved spout, angular handle, hinged domed lid with decorative finial, and an embossed ornamental border around the upper body. The underside bears the NEW IMPERIAL / G.I. MIX & CO / 1 maker’s mark. This is an attractive old serving piece with considerable naturally aged character. The surface has developed an uneven gray/silver patina with darker areas, spotting and oxidation consistent with age and use. IMPORTANT CONDITION DETAILS This is a vintage used item and is not in new or restored condition. Visible condition characteristics include: Tarnish and oxidation throughout Uneven discoloration and patina Numerous small dark spots Surface scratches and scuffs Finish/plating wear Wear around the base and edges Interior darkening and residue/oxidation Age-related wear to the lid and hinge area General wear consistent with an older metal serving piece The hinged lid opens as shown in the photographs. No attempt has been made to aggressively polish or restore the surface because many collectors prefer vintage metalware with its original aged patina.
