Smith & Corona Super-Speed standard desktop manual typewriter. Manufactured in the USA during the late 1930s to 1940s, this industrial-era machine features a classic matte black crinkle/wrinkle finish and elegant round glass-inserted keys with metal rims.Please Note: The top metal ribbon spool cover IS INCLUDED and is completely intact. It was only removed for the photos to clearly demonstrate the condition of the internal ribbon mechanism.Product Specifications:Brand: L.C. Smith & Corona Typewriters Inc. The typewriter has been basic tested. The carriage advances, and the typing mechanism functions. However, while some keys strike smoothly, several keys are sticky, sluggish, or slow to return due to decades of accumulated attic/barn dust and dried-out factory lubricant. A deep flush, cleaning, and oiling will be required for daily writing use.Ink Ribbon: The installed fabric ink ribbon is completely dried out, tangled, and torn. A new standard replacement ribbon is strictly required.Cosmetic Condition: Shows a beautiful, honest vintage "barn find" patina. There is a thick layer of dust, light surface grime, and minor finish scuffs from long-term storage. The frame is solid with no major structural cracks.Keyboard: Excellent preservation on the keyboard. Every single round glass key top is completely intact, crack-free, and perfectly legible.1248
