Vintage National S.E.B. pewter pedestal compote or footed serving bowl, marked on the underside: NATIONAL S.E.B. PEWTER 3390 An attractive older pewter piece with a classic raised pedestal form, turned-style central stem, round foot and shallow 7” bowl. The aged pewter surface has developed considerable natural character, including darkened patina, oxidation, spotting, scratches, discoloration and other signs of previous use. It has intentionally been left unpolished to preserve its existing aged surface and patina. This piece could work well as a vintage centerpiece, decorative pedestal bowl, collectible pewter display piece, or addition to a collection of older American metalware. CONDITION DETAILS This is a vintage pre-owned item and is not in new or restored condition. Visible age/use wear includes patina, tarnish/oxidation, scratches, scuffs, spotting, discoloration and miscellaneous surface marks. Minor irregularities associated with age and manufacture may also be present. No attempt has been made to professionally clean, polish, restore, or alter the finish.
