Closo Reseller Panel — Methodology
The Reseller Panel shows what resellers on Closo say they buy, where they sell and where they source, as shares by state and metro area. This page explains where those shares come from and the rules every figure has to pass before it is printed.

What this is
Shares of what resellers on Closo say they resell, where they sell and where they source, by state and by metro area. They come from our own registered users, not from a survey firm or third-party data.
Who is in the panel
- People who registered on the Closo wholesale marketplace to buy lots and completed the buyer profile questionnaire. Every answer is self-declared.
- Mostly online resellers, plus boutiques, thrift and bins stores, and exporters.
- Excluded: Closo staff and test accounts, questionnaires that were skipped, and answers older than 12 months.
What we ask
How to read a share
"X%" means X% of the panel members in that place who answered that question picked that answer. Most questions allow several answers, so their shares add up to more than 100%. The business question allows one answer, so its shares add up to 100%.
Geography
- States come from the state the member says their lots ship to.
- Metro areas come from the city of the visitor's IP address, which is approximate. A city counts toward the nearest large metro area within 40 miles of its centre, so suburbs count with their metro and an area can cross state lines.
- There are no ZIP code or neighbourhood figures.
Privacy thresholds
- A state, metro area or group is shown only when at least 10 members answered the question.
- Every printed share needs at least 5 people behind it. Smaller answers are folded into "Other" or not shown.
- Shares are rounded to whole percent, or to 10% steps for places with fewer than 50 members.
- No count, no individual answer, no name and no location is ever published.
Freshness
- The panel is recomputed every night from answers given in the last 12 months. Data has been collected since September 2026.
- A place's figures change only when at least 5 members have joined, left or changed their answer compared with every version of that place's figures we have published before. Until then the current figures stay. Any two versions of a figure therefore differ by five people or more, so comparing them cannot reveal one person's answer.
- A place whose group falls below the threshold is withdrawn. It returns only under the same rule, never with figures that differ from an earlier version by fewer than five people.
- Answers that print the same share are listed alphabetically.
Limitations
- The panel is self-selected. It describes Closo wholesale buyers, not every reseller in a state.
- Answers are what people say they resell, not audited sales.
- Purchases are not included yet: there are too few orders to publish them safely.
