Vintage Chemistry Book Collection – Lot of 4 Hardcover Scientific Texts Offered together is a collection of four vintage chemistry books, primarily dating from the 1940s. The lot covers organic, inorganic, colloid, and theoretical/electronic aspects of chemistry and would make an interesting addition to a vintage science, chemistry, academic, or historical reference collection. Included in this lot: • A Direct Entry to Organic Chemistry — John Read — Methuen & Co., London — First Published 1948 • Colloid Chemistry — Weiser — Second Edition — Wiley • Modern Aspects of Inorganic Chemistry — H. J. Emeléus & J. S. Anderson — 1944 Reprint — George Routledge & Sons • Electronic Interpretations of Organic Chemistry — A. Edward Remick — Second Printing, April 1945 — John Wiley & Sons The Remick volume contains a WWII-era publisher’s statement noting that War Production Board recommendations were followed to conserve paper and other important war materials. These are genuine older working/reference books and not modern reproductions. All four books are pre-owned and show age and use. Expect toning/yellowing of pages, discoloration, staining/spots, rubbing and shelf wear to covers, and other age-related imperfections. Some books contain previous-owner names, handwritten markings/notations and/or a personal bookplate. No attempt has been made to remove these historical ownership markings.
